The New Bywater is a safe, friendly and laid-back area, rated as one of the top 10 hippest neighborhoods in the country by the New Yorker. We are two blocks from the Marigny/Bywater buzz, and are a short Uber to the French quarter. We are located one block from St. Claude, in the St. Roch area, aka the New Bywater. Right across the street is a top rated local coffee shop. We are within close walking distance to some of the best bars and restaurants in New Orleans -- our favorite spot nearby is Bacchannal. Whether you’re a family, colleagues, or a group of friends, the Bywater has something for everyone.
The best way to get around is by bike or Uber. The main Bywater dives (The Country Club, Oaxalis, Suis Generis, Elizabeth's, etc.) are less than a 5 minute walk. The French Quarter is a short taxi/uber away; however, many locals prefer to spend time here in the Marigny/Bywater, on Frenchman Street, or in the local galleries, restaurants, bars, and cafes that are all nearby. Walking in this neighborhood is safe, but we do recommend that you be aware of your surroundings at all times and make sure the door is locked as you come and go.

“Overall we enjoyed our stay at David’s place! It was easy to access and we were actually able to begin our stay earlier than check-in which was such a huge help. Unfortunately upon arrival we notified the air conditioning wasn’t working on the main level; however I reached out to David and immediately he did everything he could to make us comfortable until it was able to be fixed the next day. He was very communicative throughout the process. There were 7 women staying at the property and we had plenty of rooms and bathrooms. We always had parking either right in front of the home or across the street.”

“This space is lovely. Completely modern and up to date. Lovely design that is spacious and perfect for large groups. It’s a little off the beaten path, but a twelve minutes in an uber gets you to the French Quarter or downtown. The upstairs AC worked great but it was a little warm in the downstairs communal areas and bedrooms. (The owners have said they will address this.) The primary bathroom upstairs is gorgeous. The water pressure is low in the spacious shower, but the giant tub is glorious. And there were plenty of towels for all. And all the beds were super comfy.”
