The Treme is a distinctly local and historic neighborhood with blocks of interesting Creole architecture. Rich in cultural history, many New Orleans greats have called the Treme home: Jelly Roll Morton, Sidney Bechet, civil rights activists, Mardi Gras Indians, Brass Bands, and Second Line parade leaders. Our neighborhood has plenty to see and do in its own right -- we suggest all newcomers to the area check out Willie Mae's Scotch House located a few blocks away. (Best fried chicken in all of New Orleans!)
The best way to get around is by foot, bike, taxi, or Uber. For cycling enthusiasts, New Orleans is an eminently bikeable city, and there are several rental and tour companies nearby. The Quarter is a 3-5 minute Uber away, and other hotspots such as the Bywater and Magazine Street are also within striking distance.

“Overall, we enjoyed our stay and found the property reasonably priced. The home was generally as described and in a convenient location. However, we specifically chose this property because of the pool, and unfortunately it did not appear to be well maintained. There was debris in the water and visible algae on the bottom, which was disappointing. We also experienced an issue accessing the property on our final night and had to contact the host for assistance. While the stay had many positives, these issues impacted our overall experience.”

“Located in an area that is noisy every night until 2:00 a.m. Trash litters the front of the Airbnb, and around the home. Trash everywhere to the extent that we had to walk around the trash. The home’s furniture is extremely used, pool will only accommodate 2 people. House was not cleaned properly , which I reported to the host. The Pool area was not cleaned, and the grill was not cleaned. Things were not working, (tv, internet, deposal). Called the host a number of times. There is a parade/ party every weekend that starts and ends in front of the AirBNB. Resulting in even more trash and noise until late in the evening. These are things that should have been disclosed in the advertising of this place befor excepting / booking guests at this location. The overall stay at the Airbnb was very disappointing to say the least. Not well kept up. The bedrooms were as pictured & bathrooms, but not much else. The Pool was extremely small only 1 or 2 people could move around comfortably.”

“On Prior visits we have booked houses closer to Jazz Fest. Very few places have as many bedrooms this close to the racetrack. This is an easy walk to the quarter and an easy walk to the Fest. The pool is a great place to soak and change up your day. Orleans Avenue is easy to get cabs and Ubers booked. And best of all, you are two blocks from Dookie Chase. If you don't get fried chicken and all the goodies then you are missing the point. Lovely house, would re book for next jazz fest”
