The Marigny is a safe, friendly, and laid-back area, rated as one of the top 10 hippest neighborhoods in the country by the "New Yorker" magazine. You will be in the middle of the Marigny/Bywater buzz, a short 5-6 minute walk to Frenchmen and about a 15 minute stroll to the French Quarter, this central location is an ideal home base for your vacation. You don’t need to go far to discover why this neighborhood is a hidden gem — some of the best bars, restaurants, and art galleries in NOLA are close by. All guests after booking will receive a list of recommendations including local's favorite spots, restaurants, and activities. We will provide detailed information and guides on the surrounding area to enhance your overall experience.
The best way to get around is by foot, bike, or Uber. Depending on your stride, the French Quarter is 10-15 minutes walking or a short Uber away. But many, especially locals, prefer to spend time on Frenchman St. (a 5 minute walk) or in local galleries, restaurants, bars, and cafes in the Marigny and Bywater. Walking in this neighborhood is quite safe and common at all hours of the day and night. Use your common sense when coming and going late at night and take a taxi or Uber/Lyft if you are ever in doubt.

“Traveled down for a work conference and brought our families so a total of 14 people and all fit more than comfortably. Everyone loved the uniqueness of the home and the little historic details. It truly is a really cool space and all beds were very comfortable. It’s important to note only two compact cars can park at the home so you’ll need to prepare to set up parking for your vehicles at a private lot about .2 miles away. Very easy to also grab Ubers from here and roughly 6 minute walks to restaurants. Would absolutely rent here again.”
“We booked this spacious house for our board retreat with the intention of working from the communal spaces, cooking and sharing meals together, and bringing our kids to enjoy the pool, spa and game room. Unfortunately, we were met day after day with maintenance issues that required us to reach out continually to the hosts and/or manage house issues ourselves. The volume of issues amounted to an incredibly distracting few days and hindered our productivity and enjoyment of the space. The hosts were reasonably responsive and tried to assist, so that is a plus. At the time of this review, we’ve been contacted by the hosts who are considering a partial refund for the frequent interruptions we experienced. It’s a great space, just beware you may need to chat with hosts daily to deal with some maintenance issues.”

“Wonderful house and excellent location! 7 minute walk to Frenchman street, 10 minute to French Quarter, there’s a convenience store on the corner that has everything you’ll need and it’s open 24hrs. We had a group of 11 and we had such an amazing friend’s trip. There is a noise ordinance after 9pm no music allowed outside which we were unaware of the first night but the host was kind and we didn’t receive any more complaints after being alerted. The pool/hot tub was the highlight. We loved that most rooms had their own bathroom. The house is old and you can hear people walking around and it does get warm in some rooms. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. We would 100% stay here again.”
